It all began with one little girl and a dream...
At the tender age of three, I began creating my own picture books with scrap paper that I would staple together. Once I finished writing and illustrating my stories, I would proudly show them to my parents, their friends, and other relatives. While I was growing up, my teachers would praise my creativity whether it was in writing, artwork, photography, painting, and sculpting. A few of my teachers had even submitted some of my poetry into various contests, and I won them all. In 1992, I had my very first award-winning poem published. It was that achievement which fueled a strong desire within myself to continue writing stories, articles, poetry and various other types of written works. At the age of twelve, I began my modeling career which I have been doing on and off since then. I even have some acting, directing, and producing credits on imdb which I am proud of.
After graduating from high school, I went on to college and obtained three degrees, one of which is a Doctorate's in Metaphysics. Even with all the skills and education I had aquired in my early stages of adulthood, I still had a very creative soul and mind. I then decided to begin my own "creative design" company back in 2003 where I created websites, corporate branding / logo's, graphic design, marketing campaigns, video's, and so on. I taught myself how to code html and java script to create innovative and professional websites, and was able to turn that into a career. However, I never stopped writing books (all ages and different genres), poetry, articles, and even reviews. It was easy for me to get my articles and poetry published but I secretly strived for more. By this time, I had written several fiction novels, tons of eBooks (over 2,000!) and pre-school aged picture books but never sought to have them published.
It wasn't until May of 2015 that I made a decision to start sharing my talents with the world. My mom had a long conversation with me about why I wrote books and never pursued getting any of them published. Upon reflection, I had determined one thing: I was scared. Mainly from the urgings of my mother (I do have some friends who also believed in my talent), I pushed aside my fears and started a new book on a writer's website called Wattpad, which my daughter uses to write her own books and had recommended to me. I began my historical romance manuscript/book called, The Final Goodbye, in May of 2015 and finished it on August 31, 2015. Even though it was only a "rough draft" of the book, I had won three awards and had been given rave reviews for it by readers from all over the world. With that book becoming such a success on three different writing sites, I began writing its sequel called, The First Hello, one week later. During that time, my mom was still reading The Final Goodbye and was on chapter twelve of that book when she died very suddenly from a pulmonary embolism. She had been my biggest fan and was the one person in the entire world who got me to come out of my shell by posting my written works online. After her death, it took me a month before I went back to work on The First Hello manuscript. It didn't take me long to finish that book; I believe that my mom's spirit watched over me while I finished writing it and silently cheered me on. It is now my passion to get my books and other written works published. Not just for my mom, but for myself. I want to leave behind a legacy for the world and for my children.
I have the talent and I am not afraid to use it!
